David Putnam is a photographer and framer based in Claremont, NH. He answers his driving question, "What more is there beyond the obvious?" in this series of close up images of the sides of abandoned trains. He choses his tight framing to give the viewer "an opportunity to experience another perspective, to force a closer examination." Putnam's darkroom technique, his choice of papers, and now his use of digital media, complete his vision.

Putman has shown in galleries in New England and Santa Fe. His work has been published in National Geographic, Smithsonian Magazine, Antiques Magazine, and in several books.
