Richard started photographing during his first tour in Vietnam in 1967. After returning he studied at the Paier School of Art in Hamden, CT. He also studied with Jed Divine, known for his fine arts and commercial photography. Richard frames all of his photographs himself using archival materials and handmade wooded frames from a local craftsman.
